This Privacy Policy explains how personal data is handled in the Android game Village Rising (“the Game”).

2. Information We Collect

Village Rising does not require users to create an account and does not directly request personal information such as your name, postal address, telephone number, contacts, photographs, precise location or payment card details.

However, limited technical and transaction-related information may be processed when you use certain features of the Game.

In-App Purchases

Village Rising offers optional in-app purchases through Google Play Billing.

Payments are processed by Google Play. We do not receive or store your payment card number or other payment credentials.

To process, verify and fulfil an in-app purchase, the Game and its integrated purchasing services may process purchase-related information such as:

  • purchased product identifier;
  • purchase status;
  • transaction identifier;
  • purchase receipt or purchase token;
  • information necessary to restore or verify eligible purchases.

This information is used only to process purchases, deliver purchased virtual items, prevent fraud and resolve purchase-related issues.

Google processes payment and Google account information according to its own privacy policies and terms.

Unity In-App Purchasing

Village Rising uses Unity In-App Purchasing (Unity IAP) to communicate with Google Play and manage in-app purchases.

Depending on the Unity IAP version and configuration included in the Game, Unity services may process technical information necessary to provide purchasing functionality, such as device information, installation or player identifiers, session identifiers, country information and purchase-related information.

Unity processes data in accordance with its applicable privacy policy and data processing terms.

3. How We Use Information

Information processed in connection with Village Rising is used only where necessary for purposes such as:

  • providing and operating the Game;
  • processing and delivering in-app purchases;
  • verifying purchase authenticity;
  • preventing fraud and abuse;
  • maintaining security and technical functionality;
  • complying with applicable legal obligations;
  • responding to support or privacy requests.

Where applicable under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), processing is based on the performance of a contract, compliance with legal obligations, or our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Game and preventing fraud.

4. In-App Purchases and Payment Information

All payments for Android in-app purchases are handled by Google Play.

Village Rising does not directly process or store payment card details.

Google Play may independently collect and process information required to complete a transaction, including payment information, Google account information, transaction information, country or region and information used for fraud prevention.

Google acts according to its own privacy policies and legal obligations when processing this information.

5. Sharing of Information

We do not sell personal data.

Personal data or technical information may be processed by service providers that are necessary to operate specific Game functionality, including:

Google Play / Google LLC and related Google entities
Used for app distribution, licensing, in-app purchases, payment processing and related services.

Unity Technologies and related Unity entities
Unity technology is used to develop the Game. Unity IAP is used to provide in-app purchasing functionality.

These third parties process information according to their respective privacy policies, terms and applicable data protection laws.

We may also disclose information where required by law, a competent authority, or where reasonably necessary to protect the security, integrity or legal rights associated with the Game.

6. International Data Transfers

Google, Unity and their service providers may process information in countries outside the European Economic Area.

Where personal data is transferred internationally, such transfers are subject to the safeguards required under applicable data protection legislation, including appropriate contractual or other legally recognised transfer mechanisms where required.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal data under our control only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy or for as long as required by applicable law.

Village Rising does not currently operate its own user-account database.

Purchase and transaction information processed independently by Google Play or other service providers is retained according to their respective retention policies.

Information that we are legally required to retain for accounting, tax, fraud-prevention or legal purposes may be retained for the period required by applicable law.

8. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure.

Payment credentials are handled directly by Google Play and are not stored by Village Rising.

No method of electronic storage or transmission can, however, be guaranteed to be completely secure.

9. Your Rights Under the GDPR

If the GDPR applies to you, you may have the right to:

  • request access to your personal data;
  • request correction of inaccurate personal data;
  • request deletion of your personal data;
  • request restriction of processing;
  • object to certain processing;
  • request data portability where applicable;
  • withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
  • lodge a complaint with a competent data protection authority.

We may need to verify your request before processing it.

Information processed independently by Google or other third-party service providers may also be subject to their own privacy request procedures.

If you are located in Slovakia, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Office for Personal Data Protection of the Slovak Republic (Úrad na ochranu osobných údajov Slovenskej republiky).

10. Account Deletion

Village Rising does not currently require or provide individual user accounts managed by the developer.

Therefore, there is no Village Rising user account stored on our servers that needs to be deleted.

If you contact us regarding deletion of personal data that is under our control, we will process the request in accordance with applicable data protection law.

Data associated with your Google Play account or payment history that is controlled independently by Google must be managed through the relevant Google services.

11. Children’s Privacy

Village Rising is not specifically designed to collect personal information from children.

We do not knowingly request children to provide their name, email address, telephone number, precise location or other directly identifying personal information through the Game.

If we become aware that personal data relating to a child has been collected in a manner that requires deletion under applicable law, we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

12. Third-Party Services

The Game may rely on third-party platforms and services that operate under their own terms and privacy policies.

Relevant services include:

  • Google Play

13. Automated Decision-Making

Village Rising does not use personal data under our control for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects on users.

14. Sale of Personal Data

We do not sell or rent users‘ personal data.

We may update this Privacy Policy when the Game, its services, legal requirements or data-processing practices change.

The current version will always be published on this page. The “Last updated” date at the top of this Privacy Policy indicates when it was most recently revised.
